This dish is adapted from the Middle eastern way of eating fava bean.
The name Kacang Poool got its name from the Egyptian word "foul" (pronounced “ful”) for fava bean. Foul.Medames is considered to be Egyptian’s national breakfast.

Pak Hj's kacang.pool differs from the versions in the Middle East where this dish is eaten with flat bread, similar to naan. In Johor is kacang.pool eaten with thick toast.
Pak.Haji's innovation Kacang.pool is eaten with a thick dipping sauce made of fava bean.
The sauce is rich aroma served with a sunny egg and a thick slice of margarine toast.
Chopped fresh onion and green chili are also mixed into the dip.
